Can I return to my usual activities after the placement?
After the 20 minutes it takes to place the Elipse balloon, you can return to your normal life, but you may experience some side effects, such as nausea, over the next few days. Your healthcare professional will advise you on the care and nutrition to follow after the placement; as well as the best plan to resume activities such as gym and exercise.
Will others notice that I have a balloon?
No! The Elipse programme is a discreet experience. Unless you say so, no one will know you have the balloon.
How much weight can you lose with Elipse?
Multiple clinical studies have shown that, after the 16-week Elipse programme, patients lose on average between 10% and 15% of their total weight. If you wish to lose more weight after completing the programme, a second balloon can be inserted.
Will I regain the weight I lost?
95% of patients maintain their weight loss 12 months after balloon placement!
Should the balloon be removed by the doctor?
No! After about 16 weeks, the balloon deflates and descends naturally. In extremely rare cases, an operation may be necessary.
